Senior Hardware Design Engineer

Sonitor Technologies is looking for a Senior Hardware Design Engineer to lead the development of our next-generation in-door positioning systems. Sonitor Technologies current products are based around proprietary ultrasound technology that combines state of the art signal processing in a mixed signal environment. The integration of this technology with wireless communication technology is one of our major ambitions. Sonitor Technologies product volume is growing rapidly and we have a major focus on reducing the cost of installation for our customers.

The position involves design at the system and board level as well as the management of external technical resources. The ideal candidate will have more than 10 years experience in designing and introducing to market microprocessor and DSP based embedded systems. Experience with analog electronics design and up to date knowledge of wireless communication technology and standards is also a must. Given our growth ambitions an in depth understanding the design requirements posed by high volume and low cost production is an advantage.

This is a technical leadership position in a fast growing company. The candidate will be expected to ensure good design practices are used throughout the development cycle and in the product's introduction to manufacturing.

Core Functions

  • Working within a team you will have the responsibility for the design and implementation of Sonitor Technologies hardware, involving and communicating with external parties where required.
  • Based on knowledge of the state of the art in digital, analog and wireless technology you will play a leading role in defining Sonitor Technologies product strategy.
  • You will be responsible for ensuring compliance with regulatory standards (FCC, UL, CE etc)

Must have:

  • Master or Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
  • Minimum ten years hardware design experience covering digital, analog and wireless technology.
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills.
  • Good command of the English language.
  • Customer focus, creativity and attention to detail.
  • High level of self-motivation and ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
