Sonitor Technologies – Leading RFID Innovator 2008

In a presentation of twenty leading RFID Innovators recently published by RFIDswitchboard Sonitor is included with their ultrasonic counterpart of RFID, namely USID (Ultrasound Identification).

In the introduction to the RFIDswitchboard publication ”20 Leading RFID Innovators” publisher and editor-in-Chief Andy Kowl explains the inclusion of a non-RFID technology: “As an acknowledgement that RFID is really about the greater universe we call Auto-ID, we are also proud to include a firm built on innovation that has created ultrasound solutions to rival RFID asset tracking solutions. We feel it is important to expand the scope with which our readers approach this topic.”


Each of the 20 leading RFID innovators, covering RFID and USID in applications for several industries, are presented with a two page article. The feature article on Sonitor Technologies and USID “Sonitor Ultrasound takes location accuracy to the next level” describes how and why USID is breaking past RFID’s barriers when it comes to accuracy, implementation and calibration as well as electromagnetic interference and cost.
