Sonitor Awarded the prestigious “Rosing Award 2008”

At The Norwegian Computer Society’s (NCS) Annual Rosing Award Ceremony Banquet on November 17th, Sonitor Technologies received the prestigious Rosing Creativity Award 2008 for the company’s unique Ultrasound based Real Time Location System (RTLS).

According to the jury Sonitor Technologies was given the award for the creative development of a system which accurately can provide the end user with information about the location of people and equipment. The fact that several hospitals have replaced their RFID systems with the Sonitor acoustic Indoor Positioning System (IPS) was emphasized.

Sonitor Technologies’ unique ultrasound based real time location system, Sonitor IPS, automatically tracks the real-time location of moveable equipment and people in complex indoor environments with 100% room-level, or zone-level accuracy (such as bed-level) within a room.

Ragnar Bo, Sonitor CEO, and Janicke Ekelberg, Director Healthcare EMEA, accepted the award on behalf of the Chairman and Founder Ole B. Hovind (MD) and the devoted team at Sonitor Technologies.

“Receiving the Rosing Creativity Award – the original Rosing Award – is a great honor,” says Dr. Ole B. Hovind. “There is a lot of work from a large number of people that has lead us to this recognition. This prize is for the hole team.”

Guest of honor at the Rosing award seremony was Doctor Jim Goodnight, Founder and President of SAS Institute.

The NCS is the largest special interest society for information technology (IT) in Norway and is an open, independent, self-financed, forum for Norway’s IT professionals and advanced IT users.

Sonitor is currently also a candidate for the “Engineer Achievement Prize 2008” presented by Teknisk Ukeblad, the oldest and largest weekly technological magazine in Norway. If you want to give your vote, please do so here: www1.tu.no/bragd2008
