West-Com and Sonitor presents joint nurse call and RTLS solution
West-Com Nurse Call Systems, Inc. and Sonitor Technologies, Inc. have established a partnering agreement.
West-Com have included Sonitor’s high-definition ultrasound-based Real Time Location System (RTLS) technology in their offering to the health care marketplace. West-Com has successfully created an interface to Sonitor’s RTLS technology to leverage the state-of-the-art non-RF staff, patient and equipment location tracking which seamlessly integrates into the West-Call nurse call product line. The combined West-Com/Sonitor solution will be showcased at the upcoming HIMSS conference in Chicago April 5-8 at Sonitor’s booth # 4845 and at West-Com’s booth #3443.
West-Com has been building relationships and the trust of healthcare facilities nationwide since 1983. Backed by a distributor network of over 65 distributors nationwide and abroad, West-Com has revolutionized the patient care environment with its state-of-the-art, user-friendly nurse call systems. ECRI twice gave West-Com systems the only “preferred” rating they award to nurse call products.
“The first deployment for the combined West-Com and Sonitor solution is already underway, and several contracts for other deployments have been signed,” says C. Larry Peters, the CEO and founder of West-Com. “We strongly believe that Sonitor’s cutting-edge ultrasound RTLS technology and West-Com’s number one status in nurse call technology represents an excellent combined solution for the healthcare communication and real time locating needs of today’s healthcare facilities worldwide.”
“Our partnering agreement with West-Com is reached at a time when Sonitor is releasing the new easily deployable High Definition Receiver which is plug and play compatible with the hospital’s existing Wi-Fi and Ethernet network, and which can create multiple location zones within a room. Such zones can for example be a patient’s bed, which enables automatic recording of patient and caregiver interaction events, or create a zone by the sanitation station to enable monitoring of compliance with hand-washing rules,” says Terry Aasen, CEO of Sonitor Technologies Inc. ”Individually and jointly the two companies’ technologies raise the bar for nurse-call and RTLS performance,” Aasen concludes.
