Seton Medical Center choose Sonitor ultrasonic IPS hardware for asset tracking at room level

Seton Medical Center has selected RadiantWave to install its healthcare resource tracking system at the four hundred plus bed facility in Austin, Texas.

Sonitor UltraSonic Indoor Positioning hardware will, together with the RedPrairie DLx® Mobile Resource™ Solution, provide Seton Medical Center universal coverage of one of their hospitals.

RedPrairie's solution provides visibility of assets, patients and other mobile resources across an entire network of facilities. Sonitor's UltraSonic hardware provides precise room level accuracy without interfering with other radio technology and instruments utilized in hospitals. This industry leading solution is the only solution on the market that gives the ability to track hospital equipment and patients at room level.

Adding this technology will allow Seton the ability to track all assets automatically, resulting in staff spending less time searching for equipment and more time for hands-on patient care.

"The Seton Family of Hospitals is continuing its drive to provide the best care for the people of the city of Austin and the use of new technology helps the organization be successful. This technology will greatly increase the ability of the staff to perform their core duties by reducing daily search time for assets and locating patients for treatments," says Jim Dachelet, CIO RadiantWave.

"It is an honour for us to be selected by Seton Medical Center, and we look forward to implementing our technology together with RadiantWave and RedPrairie in this prestigious hospital" says Terry Aasen, President & CEO of Sonitor Technologies, Inc.

Terry Aasen continues, "We are delighted that Seton Medical Center has chosen our hardware to precisely and safely track mobile assets and people. Because ultrasound signals by nature confine themselves to the room where they originate, our IPS system makes room identification and accuracy virtually fail-proof. No other tracking and positioning technology has that kind of accuracy,"

The solution will be implemented in the fall of this year.
